Private Foundations and similar entities by any other name (associations, rivate members clubs, etc), are used primarily to operate business affairs ‘in private’ which means it is not in ‘the public’ and therefore is a self assessing entity for tax purposes if it is created and operated the right way.
A Private Foundation may operate a business platform to obtain funds into the foundation for the unique purposes outlined in the Foundation articles to the benefit of whoever the foundation chooses to help and support.
